Hi Tricia, just having a browse through the site, looking at the photos of Coda’s gorgeous family members! What a joy to see all the wonderful dogs you have bred. Coda sends his love!
Hi
Excellent site and truly excellent dogs, I lost my beloved boy a blue roan cocker at the weekend, he was a weirdene as were all my dogs over the years. It was nice to read the critiques you included from Richmond, as we really miss visiting him most weekends.
I remember watching Albert win best in show at crufts he was a remarkable dog.
Loved reading your site, very informative. I had a beautiful black pet cocker that had your lines in his pedigree. I lost him a couple of yrs ago aged 13, and he left a huge void. Just the best dog in the whole world. It was amazing to see your photos and see his likeness everywhere , your breeding obviously leaves a stamp. I am very impressed that your pedigrees show you resisted using line breeding as a quick fix. Your dogs are absolutely beautiful, l hope to be owned by one in the future.
Always enjoy a browse round your website whenever I feel the need of a cocker boost! I remember the day I called at your lovely home and met your beautiful cockers with a view to having Mikey – I call him the one that I lost out on! Hope he keeps well, and yourself and Steve. xx
I love your site. We are on the verge of bringing a Black and Tan boy puppy home (one week to go!) and I have become a bit obsessed already!

What á wonderfull site about the beautiful Englisch Cocker Spaniel. We have on this moment our second Black and Tan pup. It is the fourth Cocker Spaniel for us. Hi!
I live in Calgary, Canada and I have a solid black Cocker who is apparently a great, great, great grandson of Canigou Cambrai. My dog’s Kennel name is Meidrims Sweet Noel (Caesar), he was born on Christmas day 2008 and his father dog was Yelbis Master Inquisitor. Caesar’s the second of my three cockers and he’s the most agreeable dog I’ve ever met.
Dear Tricia, my love for cocker spaniels began when I was six years old. My uncle visited with his three show cocker spaniels and it was a two way love from then on. I’ve had cocker spaniels throughout my life and lost my last spaniel at nearly sixteen years of age a few months ago. I have so enjoyed seeing your wonderful dogs and puppies on your website, and I thank you. I’m now retired, I should say semi retired as I’m raising my lovely seven year old granddaughter Anna. Looking, smiling, and in awe at the beauty before me on your website, I realise that perhaps it’s my turn to give Anna the opportunity to share our love of cocker spaniels.
Should you ever have a very small bitch puppy or a slightly older one, particularly one that’s lighter and too small to show, we’d love to buy one from you to be part of our family and very much loved and cared for. Thank you for keeping the breed true.
I just love Cocker Spaniels, I have a Chocolate and Tan one called Koko, Wouldn’t be without her.
Dear Tricia, I just wanted to say what a brilliant website, your passion for the beautiful cocker spaniel clearly shines through. It’s marvellous that you’ve done so much to remain true to the breed standard.
I’m thrilled that our beautiful 15 month-old, black and tan boy’s lineage includes Rock Star as his granddad, Classic Rock as his Great Grandma and Classical as his Great, Great Grandma. He is very special!
Thank you for sharing your knowledge and good luck for the future.
My name is Benson (Kasordon Knight Watchman) and I’m nearly 4yrs old. I found out today that Albert is my Great Great Grandfather (think that’s right number of Greats) …… my Mum has always said I’m special. Have read your website with interest and pride.
Having one of Rocky’s puppies in my life is a dream . Gretl has her first minor puppy shows in May 2018 . Looking to make her daddy proud .
Very beautiful dogs,
Best wishes
Paul mcclean
Enjoyed looking through your website again as my love affair with cockers is undiminished! I remember my day with you and Steve and how kind you were, but unfortunately Mikey did not come home with me. I think of him often, such a handsome boy.
Hello, we met at the museum yesterday whilst waiting for our respective spouses. It was really nice to have someone to talk to. Mine did come out eventually, albeit to ask if I could find a cash machine.
Your dogs are clearly much loved by you and their new families, and even someone like me who has never owned a dog can see why.
Kind regards
Ruth
what beautiful dogs . I’ve really enjoyed looking at your website. I have waited a long time to own gold bitch,I hope I can in the near future be lucky enough to purchase one from you .the work you must have put in is evident to anyone who looks at your website . many congratulations to you for keeping this beautiful dog as near to its breed standard as possible thank you kindest regards Helen
Good afternoon,
I have loved looking through your lovely gallery of these gorgeous dogs. We are so very fortunate to have a Black & Tan Cocker Spaniel and his Great Grandfather is Canigou Cambrai, according to his Kennel Club Pedigree. His name is Ronnie, The Rocket and he is just so lovely, born 5th December 2016. He is the most loving dog you could ever wish for. Such a favourite with our friends and everyone he meets think he is just a sweetie. He lives a lovely life with us, we live next near to the canal and he enjoys sniffing around all the time when out on adventures. We also own a narrow boat for weekend and holidays and he adores being on their, watching as we pootle along. Best wishes Christine and Ronnie
Hello Tricia,
Just wanted to add a message.
Our lovely black Rosie, daughter of Albert the Great, the little Scalley Wag and our late beautiful golden cocker, Lulabelle, one lived to 16 and the the other just shy of 17.
They both were the most wonderful dogs that anyone could have had in the world. The time energy an love, you have out into breeding some of the most beautiful cockers ever.
I can only say thank you for enriching myself and Victor’s life.
Hope you may have a pup for me next year.
You truly are the best.

This is an amazing web site with so much information and beautiful images of your dogs. I have thoroughly enjoyed spending time reading everything.
giving the novice inspiration ,a beautiful website.
I am the Japanese lady at the Windsor Dog show today. Yes it was 3 years ago that my daughter in law brought me to the show and now that we have moved to Windsor had to pay a visit to the show.
Impressed that your team won so many awards today. Congratulations to all!! I was very taken by Rock Star – still rocking after 9 years. He has such a distinguished demeanour.
Anyway as soon as I got back I googled your website and so many of your dogs and puppies are so adorable.
We will sometime next year seek to replace our Cocker who passed away last year aged 16. Hope your kennel may have something for us then. Also i will send some pictures of you i took today to your e-mail later. Thank you!
Thank you for your beautiful website. I am in California, USA, and I’m so fortunate to have a sweet and beautiful black and tan English Cocker. She is just a love, like a living stuffed animal. She was bred for show, but could not go into a show career because of some orthopedic issues that cause her to have a bunny hop gait. I adopted her just before she turned 2 and she has lived a life of love and luxury ever since.
I especially enjoyed your page on black and tan cockers, and mine certainly has the most affectionate and loving temperament I could imagine. Her mother was B&T and her father was orange and white.
All the best,
Vicki (and Bailey dog!)
Hi.
What a treat to walk down memory lane I was only looking for a blue roan puppy and found beauty on 4 legs thank you lovely site
Hello,
Your website has been so lovely to look through – such beautiful dogs! I am looking for a cocker hopefully around July time, if you are expecting a litter anytime soon, would love to get in touch!
Keep up the wonderful work you do!
Best wishes,
Rebecca x
What a wonderful website, fascinating to read and lovely photos. Just lost my baby boy of 17…
Hi Tricia,
Just wanted to say how much I loved your website. Your dogs are absolutely gorgeous, so glad to have come across you! We lost our handsome Black and Tan boy Wilfred at 2 1/2 yrs old was completely heartbreaking. Have loved looking through your pictures, beautiful breed and would always be our only choice!
We are now looking for another handsome boy, would love to have one of your puppies, kind regards Charlotte x
Hi Trish, just to say well done on your AI litter. Hopefully a useful black dog for the future?? Hope they’re doing well. Look forward to hearing more about them when I next see you at a show, cheers, Sue Shinkfield.
Yesterday we lost Chibby, (Quettadene Copper Glow) at just under 15yrs old due to Gastric Dilation (or “Bloat”), a life-threatening condition I knew nothing of previously.. From start to finish, it was all over in less than 12hrs. He was a dearly loved and irreplaceable member of the family who always knew before we did what was going to happen next. What a boy.. we’re heartbroken.
If you have not had cockers previously look at Tricia’s the pictures really show a cocker is, happy and full of nonsense whilst
turning on the posing for the ring, they are one of a kind SO READ ALL YOU CAN !!!!!!!
Sorry Thomas that you have lost Luca, it is heartbreaking, I am a 58 yr old man and sobbing my heart out just before Christmas
when we lost Kassie. She was only 10 and it devastates you to the core. Think of all the good times you had with this magic
breed they are very special. Take care, he stays in your heart forever….Andy…..
Sadly had to let Luca slip away today at 10.30 am … He truly was larger than life and will be missed by the three of us at home … He was 14years and six months old and still a true cocker to the last … I hope he’s with his father … Albert …
All my respect for this kennel !
Best regards from Alina Lincu and all the Covenant cockers xx
Dear Tricia,
congrATULations!!!
I thoroughly enjoyed going through all the pages of your website. It is very informative. B&T page is educative.
What an amazing journey of five decades with the Cockers… Surprisingly more solids and fewer Blue-roans.
Gorgeous Cockers. You have done an awesome job with this breed.
Best regards,
ATUL Akolkar

just lost our beloved Josh, son of Sh Ch Canigou Cambrai and Sorbrook Cliché. He was our third ‘Sorbrook’ Cocker from the lovely Jean and John Smith at Bodicote, Sadly both died in 2009. I love the photographs and details of the Canigou cockers. Thank you for making us smile in remembrance.xxx
Dear Ttricia, your breeding is amazin! as ever I always remember your babies from Happy. Best wishes fron Buenos Aires Argentina
Love this page. Me too having a spaniel named Nero.
Hi. I just loved your page. All those wee dogs are just stunning; I’d love a Black and Tan Cocker Spaniel
Elspeth x
Dear Tricia,
I am proud that I met you and I fell in love with your dogs when I saw them at dog show in 1980. Your cockers are still beautiful 🙂
Best wishes for Canigou Cockers & greetings from Poland
Jola
Probably the best Cocker website I’ve found. Love the oh-so-important information on breed history. So few record this, and then it is lost. Greatly looking forward to The Reunion in October! Did you know my first Cocker, Miss Twiggy of Stapleton, was descended several times from Sh Ch Broomleaf Black & Tan?
Hi,
I’ve just read through your page, and the Gillespie that you talk about is my Cockers’ grandad!! She is 9 months old, she is Black and Tan, her name is (Kerriglow) Pixie Dust and she is absolutely beautiful! Was going to send you some photos of her but can’t work out how to do it on here!! x x
Thinking of my first cocker – Canigou Hall of Fame mother Canigou Christine Mary – whom I lost 23 yrs this weekend at age 14
(bought from Trevor Borman). Over the years since then, I have lost 8 others, loved them all dearly and can recall all of them in an instance! Don’t know what drew me to the breed in the first place but can not resist them – just looking at photos puts a smile on my face! I’m sure you’ve have such pleasure – and more! Enjoy! Thank you.
Hi there. I adore all your pictures. And one day I think I will come to you to buy a pup. I have a beautiful black boy cocker named elvis, he is a star but getting old now and I’m not gonna bear being without him. Will want another little beauty to spoil when the time comes. A Black and Tan one next time methinks!!
Hi Tricia
A lovely and informative website – great to see that your sucess has continued. I loved the B&T club page (thanks for including a picture of my own girl – Jannors Flashdancer). Wishing you continuing sucess.
All the best, Lisa Berry (Parkin)
Hi,
Just wanted to say how much I enjoyed your website. Your dogs are absolutely gorgeous, clearly well loved and your work keeping the lines clean is fantastic to see. You have done a brilliant job. Well done you!
Regards,
Caroline
Truely beautiful show cockers! I have a black male cocker who’s gt gt gt grandfather was canigou cambrai and can see the resemblance to your beautiful black cockers.
Loved your website. You must be very proud of what you have achieved with these fantastic cockers.
One has to recognise a breeder of your calibre that has spent a life time to perfect the quality that your kennel has achieved.
Viewing your pages and history I have come to understand that is no easy task. Like they say ” Rome wasn’t built in a day ”
My congratulation on you’re achievement and I wish for you to continue in breeding such lovely specimen.
WOW! Having been brought up with a cocker spaniel – and had 11 dobermans plus assorted others over adult life, my heart lurched when I saw your beautiful dogs! I love all of them but especially the black and tans. I see that Rosa’s pups are all spoken for – and clearly she won’t be having another litter too soon, but are you likely to produce any more beautiful black and tans in the near(ish) future? Where are you based? – we are in Surrey (can travel!) We have a lovely 6 year old doberman boy who needs a little playmate. We have always had two. I am taking early retirement in December so it is time to start looking for another puppy. Very best wishes, Christine
Your dogs are absolutely gorgeous! All the colours are amazing 🙂
Looking at your Black and Tans, beautiful!.. Lovely to read the history on them too.
hi Trisha nice to see you win at wales it was the 1st time id been there . Sorry didn’t get chance to chat to you about your new litter ( looks lovely) but you were to busy winning 🙂 love looking at your site hoping to see pics of the pups as they get bigger before going to their new family.best wishes Maggie ( in Devon )
I really enjoyed looking at your web site such quality dogs .I was friends with Jean Smith having imported two cockers from her a son of sunglint and a daughter of sorbrook beechnut in the 1976
Jean stayed with my wife and I when she came to australia to judge our national cocker show in 2000 .she really loved your dogs especially Cambrai regards
really enjoyed viewing your site, really nice cockers who look fit for purpose, after showing and breeding Labs for 30 plus years we sadly lost our last 2 (mother and daughter) last year at young ages, my wife and I are now retired and are considering a change of breed to cockers to show but not to breed , we both like tri-colours, black&tans and blue roans, we would only buy from a breeder who does health tests out of choice not because the KC stipulates, are you planning any litters this year which there may be a puppy available to people like ourselves who have dogs first as pets who live in and very much part of our lives
thanks
David Causer
Hi Tricia,
Just wanted to wish you huge support and best wishes for Sunday at Crufts.
Your puppies from last year are just beautiful. Congratulations on your recent achievements!
Looking forward to hopefully saying hello to Yourself, Goldie & Kate.
With kind regards
BEST OF LUCK.!!!
Aileen Baker xx
Hi ,
We had a pup off you way back in the 1980 s I do not think you will remember it was a golden male as a pet for my daughter Lisa she did send you a letter telling you how well ( Whisky ) did he won several obedience shows and we had a great time with him , we lost him after 11 yrs but we fondly remember him.
I just thought I would send you a line and let you know thanks very much.
Yours truly
Keith williams
Just loved your dogs what quality
loved looking at your site after only showing for 2 years it was wonderful to actually meet Tricia at the end of 2013 at the London cocker show & lka. Her dogs are beautiful I can only dream of such an achievement of so many years of hard work. wishing you all the best in 2014.
Hi there
I Just wanted to say how stunning your dogs are. I grew up with a golden male cocker.
Exactly a month a go I sadly lost my beautiful golden female Holly. She had a tumour on her liver..We had her for 11 amazing years..but i feel we should have had her for at least another 4 or 5. I still can’t believe she is gone. Completely heartbroken. We did everything possible to save her. She slept with us since she was 8 weeks old and my vet commented in her last moments that she was the most travelled dog he knows having come to Italy to help organise our wedding and recently caravanning all over Devon and Cornwall.
I am a regular visitor to Crufts..this year I will bring over some of my grooming students, I will be there on gundog day so I will keep an eye out for your beautiful babies if you are there this year. Sorry for the big long email.
Wishing you luck & best wishes
Aileen (Southern Ireland)

I had my first Cocker, a blue roan bitch called Tink, a year ago and I am totally smitten. She is lively and incredibly intelligent and totally different to the German Shepherds that we had previously had the honour to love.
During my web searching for information on the breed your kennel name comes up frequently (hence my visit to your page) and having looked around here I can understand why…….your dogs look wonderful 🙂 Thank you for creating such a useful website and I wish you the very best of luck for the future of your gorgeous Cockers.
Warmest congratulations an yet another super win at The cocker show, pleased as punch to see Lettuce take the top award, so deserved she is a stunner, please give her a hug from me. Great to see another Canigou Cocker being successful at Crufts 2013!!! We were lucky enough to have our own Canigou line cocker from 1992 to 2005 (Jolly Court Jester sired by Larendas Gambling Debt to Canigou) – ‘Duke’ – best dog ever!!! The Canigou line epitomises everything that is a Cocker Spaniel’ – stunning!
Hi Just watched the gun dog group tonight your dog should have been in the final cut, love the website. I have 3 weirdenes at home and was priveleged to ge to know Richmond really well over the past 25 years and also fortunate to accompany him to shows. So was very disapointed when your dog was not chosen today.

Just seen your beautiful bitch at Crufts and looked on your website. I have a sable Cocker neutered dog just coming up to 4 having previousl had blue roans and he is a totally different character. When he was a pup he was much darker and looked very much like the pup on your black and tan page!

Hello Tricia
I was so pleased to see a photograph of Tanny the B&T Covana Cover Girl which l and my former husband bred in 1973, l remember her birth so well at the time she was a rare colour then and being quite new in the breed. her Mum we purchased from Miss Jean Lanning Clausentum kennels, then we became friendly with Rene Martin Merryborne which lead to our first litter of Cockers being born in 1973, we showed her as pup but at the time received some very negative comments from some of the staunch breeders around at that time saying she would not do well in the showrng because of her colouring, when we were approached by Mrs Arland who said she could do very well in the USA & Canada we let her go, her journey to the States was delayed by weather conditions and l remember the long hours we waited to hear of when she would reach her destination l vowed then l would never to send another puppy abroad again, as it was agonising, l am sure things are much improved these days, Mrs Arland was very lovely person and telephoned us when she arrived and assured us she was very well, none the worse for her journey just thought l would share some memories with you just to say thank you for giving me the chance to see her photo again.
I have in the past twenty four hours been blessed with a litter of Cocker Spaniels as it has been many years since l have had puppies l am very excited fantastic website so interesting thank you again for giving so much pleasure.
Regards Joy

Hi there….. its Margaret Montgomery formerly Robson-Hay Stormpasture……. Was so impressed how well you have kept such typy cockers over all these years. Very well done.!!!!
I revisited the Canigou webpages and was very impressed by the new layout and additional contents all of which make the site a must for cocker enthusiasts, some very interesting facts about the early winners and less well known facts about some show winning cockers that I found fascinating. Congratulations on a brilliant and informative site.
I really enjoyed seeing all your beautiful cockers.I met you once or twice whilst you were showing Patent Applied For.and have the super photo of the the three greats. At the time I was in England from Brazil, looking for a stud dog.I fortunately bought Helenwood Diplomat, who was a great producer and Best Cocker in Brazil, the year after he arrived! He had a good life and died peacefully at 13 years old.I still have many (too many!!) of his ggggchildren, and many champions, mostly black!WE live rather a long way from Sao Paulo,so only attended shows 3-4 hours away. Now I have no more to show, and as I have damaged both my knees,it is unlikely that I will breed anymore, shall be very bored!!Good luck for 2012,and congratulations for ypour excellent breeding and successes.Best Wishes,Jessica Purgly(Budapest)
Lovely designed website with gorgeous dogs!!!

What lovely spaniels! We lost our old boy after 14years in March. Now counting the days until retirement so I can get another 1 (or 2) have been looking at your dogs and plan to contact 2013-14 to see if you will be having a litter and if any can be for pets as we’d like another black and a red.
Very nice new web site
Love your cockers they are top class.
